Weekend in Tofino, British Columbia

Last weekend I left snowy Victoria to stay up island at the Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino B.C.

The Wickaninnish Inn, has become a landmark - the rustic beauty of this critically acclaimed destination has become a must-see for anyone traveling to the west coast. Guests can be sure to enjoy excellent service not only at the resort itself but also within all of the amenities. The Inn is also recognized with a Relais & Chateaux accreditation.

After enjoying a fantastic meal at The Pointe Restaurant and a relaxing massage at The Ancient Cedars Spa I went to explore the beauty of the Pacific Rim and it inspired me to take some photographs of the sand formations and mother nature.

  2. I love the Wickaninnish Inn. It's a fantastic place to get away to on the Island.

The pictures of the sand are very cool. You can see how these patterns have inspired carpet and fabric designs.

  3. Great images - one can easily tell a designer was taking photographs. Imagine what we could do with a real, professional camera instead of a point and shoot was a comment Patricia Gray made last night at our little designer/blogger get-together. (you were missed of course)

  4. A few years ago, my in-laws went to the Wickaninnish Inn to celebrate their wedding anniversary. They have always loved the beauty of British Columbia, and loved their stay at the Inn. It is on my list of places to go (BC in general, Wickaninnish Inn specifically), especially now that I have seen this post!

The sand formations are beautiful. I am in California right now (thank you for your nice comment on my post) and get so much inspiration at looking at the seascape in front of me, from the sand to the waves to the ocean.

  5. Tofino is one of my favourtie spots on this planet. I miss it and have not had a chance to visit it for several years now. There is something about the rugged coast line and the fresh salt air that totally restores one's soul. Thanks for the beautiful pictures!!

  9. From your pictures it looks like you had fairly nice weather. What a shame you didn't experience the full force of 'mother nature' while you were there. Glad you were able to take some time for a well deserved weekend off!

  10. Beautiful pics, Ivan. The sand formations are amazing. I think they would look fantastic as artwork, grouped together on a wall.
