DESCRIPTION

Characterized by its rhythmic composition, this light fixture will bring a sense of glamour to any space. This fixture has the right balance of black and Gold or Chrome. Its clean lines make it memorable and easy to blend with any style.

Lately it has been difficult to find something unique that really excites me for the eye candy section. It seems that we are in a time where everything has been already done or it is a new interpretation of a past idea, which seems to be the case of this particular eye candy. What I like about this light fixture and company is the quality of their products and the time that they take to put together a piece. There is a process and not only a machine made item.

DESCRIPTION

I have been looking for a task lamp for the longest time and yesterday I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered the Diesel line while I was visiting Gabriel Ross in town. I like the simplicity of the lines and the retro vibe of these lamps, but what I really like is the taupe glass and how the light glows within the glass.

Glas takes the familiar image of industrial lamps used in warehouses and factories worldwide. A reinvented icon in the light of a new contemporary lifestyle, transformed into a precious and personal entity, transported into a timeless dimension. By day, by night: Glas is a lamp with a double life. When it is off, the superficial chrome-coloured vacuum metallisation finish reflects the surrounding environment and objects like a mirror. When it is on, it emits a warm beam, with a retro feel, which is both directed and diffused. This characteristic underlines the passage from the technical nature of metal to the artisan craftsmanship of glass. I am so proud to introduce this really sweet eye candy of the week. Not only because I love the design of the Alux Table/Lamp, but due to the fact that this innovative piece was designed by fellow Mexican designer Christian Vivanco.

In 2009, Vivanco was selected by Wallpaper magazine as one of the top emerging young designers to follow.

In Mayan mythology, Alux is a creature similar to a goblin or a naughty elf that lives in the forest; clearly the cultural background of Christian Vivanco is the inspiration for this stunning light fixture.

Who doesn’t love the fact that Alux is the perfect solution for small spaces? its dual functionality gives strong flexibility as you can use the piece in multiple locations not, just to be next to you as your night stand table/lamp combo.
